VERCELLI MAURI
PROJECT FOR THE ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL UPGRADING OF A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN MILAN
THE PROJECT
The project concerns the full energy and environmental upgrading of a property located on Corso Vercelli 25 and Via Mauri 6 in Milan, as well as of the area in-between, used as a shopping arcade and a shared underground garage.
The property constituting the object of the upgrade is a building of the 1960s, mainly used for residential and office purposes, made up of 110 units with a total surface of 8545 sq.m.
One important feature of this upgrade is that THE RESIDENTS WILL REMAIN ON SITE THROUGHOUT THE TERM OF THE WORKS, which will last about six to eight months and will mostly concern the common areas.
Being subject to a broad variety of works, THIS YARD OFFERS A PILOT EXAMPLE for the full energy and environmental upgrade of ANY BUILDING, INCLUDING INHABITED ONES, and clearly demonstrates that any existing building, if submitted to careful and sustainable maintenance, can actually ensure the same performance as new high-efficiency buildings, however at much lower construction costs.
The energy and environmental upgrading of existing real estate assets is therefore the new frontier of contemporary building.
Being a practical example of construction at the service of a community, the COURSE OF WORKS CAN BE FOLLOWED IN REAL TIME ON THIS WEB PAGE and the yard will be open to the public for educational visits throughout the term of the works.
